Tuft & Needle Vs Aviya Mattress Performance

When shopping for a mattress online, it’s important to try to read about how the mattress performs and try to get an idea of what the mattress feels like. As most online mattress brands are online only, and it may be hard to find a store to try the mattress out. Although if you find that the mattress you purchase isn’t right for you, many mattress brands offer sleep trials and you can return the mattress if it doesn’t suit you. Now let’s look at Tuft & Needle vs Aviya in mattress performance, as its good to learn about each of these mattress performances in mattress comfort, support, firmness, airflow and motion transfer.

Mattress Firmness

A mattress firmness is properly the most important when purchasing a mattress, as purchasing the wrong firmness can create big discomfort.

The Tuft & Needle Nod hybrid mattress has a firmness of medium firm on the mattress firmness scale, giving sleepers a soft touch, but also enough firmness for neck and spine alignment. The Tuft & Needle Nod hybrid mattress is only available in one level of firmness, so it has a balance of softness and firmness, ensuring that it appeals to a vary of sleepers.

With the Aviya mattress it offers 3 different level of firmness, Plush, Luxury Firm and Firm, giving customers the choice to get the right firmness for their body. For the Plush firmness, it’s the perfect option for those who want a softer, luxuriant feel. The plush option gives sleepers extra layers of plush foam, so sleepers feels as though they are sleeping into the mattress, making this option perfect for stomach sleepers.

Next the luxury firm option is the most popular and ideal for most sleepers. The luxury firm option feels not too soft and not too hard. Overall feel is slightly firm but has a nice soft plush layer. Lastly the firm option is the hardest choice and is only for those who like a firm feel. The firm feel doesn’t feel like your sleeping on a rock, but rather sleeping on top of the mattress, so your body doesn’t sink into it.

Mattress Comfort

Both mattresses give excellent comfort and pressure relief, especially for your back and shoulders area. With Tuft & Needle adaptive foam on top, it ensures that sleeper get a responsive feel and that there is comfort on their whole body. The Aviya mattress also gives great comfort, the premium quilted top cotton layer and the layer of high-density comfort foam gives sleeper the hotel feeling and comfort throughout the night.

Mattress Support

When it comes to mattress support, both mattresses are good and have an innerspring layer to give excellent support. The Tuft & Needle Nod mattress has a layer of responsive foam and a layer of pocket springs, which gives support to the body and the foam responds to body movements.

The Aviya mattress has a support foam layer, that lays on top of the individually wrapped innersprings core, this gives the sleeper great support for their body and back. There are also extra innersprings in the middle of the mattress, which gives extra support, as the middle part of the body is most important.

Mattress Motion Transfer

If you are sharing a bed, then a mattress motion transfer is defiantly worth looking into. Motion transfer is how movement is transferred around the mattress, for example when your other half gets out of bed, how much movement can you feel, obviously it would be ideal for you to feel nothing, as you don’t want your sleep to be disturbed. When looking at motion transfer, both mattresses have layers, which focuses on providing great motion transfer. The Tuft & Needle Nod mattress has a layer of individually encased innersprings, that aims to minimise motion transfer, the thick layer of foam also helps to minimise movement. For the Aviya mattress, the motion transfer also performs well, and the individually wrapped coils help to isolate motion. So, you won’t feel your partner moving around and getting out of bed.

Mattress Off-Gassing

The Tuft & Needle Nod mattress is very good in the off-gassing area, this hybrid mattress is certified by CertiPUR-US® and has GREENGUARD Gold certification, this ensures that the mattress has low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The GREENGUARD Gold certification is also a higher level of GREENGUARD certification, it also has stricter criteria, so this mattress is ideal and safe for kids to use. However, some customers have reviewed that the mattress does have strong new smell, after opening the box, but this does disperse within a few days. But make sure to leave the mattress in a room with the window open.

For the Aviya Mattress, it is also CertiPUR-US® certified, meaning the Aviya Mattress has been made without any harmful flame retardants, ozone depleters, heavy metals, formaldehyde and phthalates. This is regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and has low indoor emissions. In terms of off gassing, the Aviya Mattress does not have a constant strong smell, however it does have a small new mattress smell on delivery, which disperses after a few days.

Mattress Airflow

Both mattresses have great airflow and cooling features. The Tuft & Needle Nod mattress has a layer of T&N Adaptive® foam, that is breathable and allows air to flow through the layer. it is also covered in a plush and breathable cover, which also lets air breathe throughout the mattress.

With the Aviya Hybrid Mattress, its combination of innersprings and foams creates the ultimate airflow and ensures sleepers get a nice cooling sleep. The innersprings are having great airflow, as they are all individually wrapped and have space in between them, making it easy for air to flow around the innerspring layer.

Mattress Value

When it comes to value, both mattresses are at similar price points, which are at a fair point when compared to other hybrid mattress brands. The value is also good, when looking at the materials and features each mattress offers. The Aviya mattress is more expensive than the Tuft & Needle Nod mattress, but the Aviya does offer a higher spring count and a 3-inch foam edging, which the Tuft & Needle Nod doesn’t have. However, the Tuft & Needle Nod mattress does have its innovative T&N adaptive foam and cooling features.

When looking at value, it’s important to compare a few mattresses and see if certain features will benefit you. As sometimes a cheaper mattress may not offer the best features, but a mattress that costs slightly more may tick all your boxes.
