Simba is a very known mattress brand in Europe, with over 18,000 reviews on Trustpilot, Simba Mattress has spent years and years developing its mattress. It first created a memory foam mattress, but after receiving feedback and learning from their customers, they have now developed and created the Simba Hybrid mattress. The Simba Hybrid® mattress uses a combination of foam and its patented titanium Aerocoil® springs, to create a very comfortable and cooling mattress, with great relief for back pains or a bad back.

Apart from the Simba Hybrid® Mattress, Simba has also created a new updated version, the Simba Hybrid® Pro. Let’s have a deeper look at both mattresses.

If you are not keen on a full memory foam mattress, then you may want to consider a hybrid mattress. Firstly what is a hybrid mattress, a hybrid mattress uses a combination of foam/ latex and innersprings to give sleepers the full comfort of foam/latex and the full support of innersprings. Simba currently offers 2 hybrid mattresses, the Simba Hybrid® Mattress and the Simba Hybrid® Pro Mattress. Although both mattresses are similar, they do offer different benefits and have different features.

Simba Hybrid Mattress
Simba Hybrid Mattress Layers

The Simba Hybrid® Mattress has 5 mattress layers, first layer is a breathable sleep surface, soft and comfortable. However, this cover cannot be removed and is not washable, therefore we recommend using a mattress protector to protect the mattress from stains and spills. Second layer is an open cell foam layer, this provide a soft comfortable top and acts as a transition layer from foam to the Titanium Aerocoil® Spring. The patented Titanium Aerocoil® Spring has up to 2,500 25mm conical pocket springs, these springs are made from titanium alloy and are made in Leeds, UK, the springs are enclosed in 100& polyester pocket. Next layer is a layer of high definition foam, this layer gives additional comfort and gives the mattress excellent edge support, this makes the mattress strong enough for sleepers who sleep on the edge of a mattress. The last layer is zoned support base foam, this foam has specific foam structures to give more support to specific parts of the body.

PROS

  • Very cooling and great air flow
  • Great spinal support and pressure relief
  • Soft and comfortable top

CONS

  • Mattress cover not removable
  • Only one level of firmness available

Simba Hybrid® Mattress Firmness

When shopping for a hybrid mattress, it’s very important to understand mattress firmness scale and which level of firmness is best for your sleeping position. As you don’t want a mattress which is too hard or not comfortable, sleeping long term on an uncomfortable mattress will cause long term back pains and body aches.

The Simba Hybrid® Mattress stands at the medium level on the mattress firmness scale, meaning its not too firm and not too soft. Making this mattress ideal for stomach sleepers and those with a larger body type.

Simba Hybrid® Mattress and Back Pain

Although Simba are not medical professionals, they have spent an enormous amount of time to test, change and create the most suitable mattress for their customers. They have listened to customer feedback and amended their mattress to suit customers needs.

One feedback which kept coming up was the need to help customers who have a bad back, although Simba are not medical specialists, they have listened to the customer feedback and adapted their mattresses to give customers a comfortable sleep.

The layer of Aerocoil springs helps to give sleepers support and comfort, the Aerocoil springs are made of titanium alloy, meaning they are lighter than the traditional springs, and you defiantly won’t feel them whilst you are sleeping.

Simba Hybrid® Mattress Performance

When buying a mattress its important to look at how a mattress performs in edge support, motion transfer and its cooling features.

Edge support is an important feature to look out for if you are sharing a bed or like to sleep close to the edge of the mattress, as a mattress with good edge support will not sink when sat or laid on.

Both Simba Hybrid® mattresses have excellent edge support, as both have a layer of high definition foam, which gives the mattress strong edge support. With excellent edge support, you won’t have to worry about rolling off the mattress or the mattress edge sinking.

Motion transfer is also a very important feature if you are sharing a mattress with someone else. A mattress with very good motion transfer means your partner won’t feel movement, if you get in and out of bed, so your partner will get undisturbed sleep.

Simba Hybrid Mattress Bed Base

Motion transfer is also a very important feature if you are sharing a mattress with someone else. A mattress with very good motion transfer means your partner won’t feel movement, if you get in and out of bed, so your partner will get undisturbed sleep.

With a layer of encased pocket coils, both Simba Hybrid® mattresses have great motion transfer and isolated motion transfer well. Since the pocket coils only react to your own movement, meaning your partner won’t feel your movement.

If you hate sleeping on a hot mattress and wake up all hot and stuffy, then both Simba Hybrid® mattresses will suit you. Both mattresses have a layer of 25mm conical pocket Aerocoil™ springs, made with titanium alloy and the springs are well spaced out, which creates great airflow.

The last additional layer is 2 rows of unique patented titanium aerocoil® spring comfort, this layer has up to 5,000 25mm conical pocket Aerocoil™ springs. The double row of titanium aerocoil® springs gives the mattress much greater airflow and evenly distributes the body weight.

Simba Mattress Review

If you want a full memory foam mattress, then the Simba Premium Seven Zoned Foam Mattress would be a great pick. The Simba Memory Foam Mattress has 3 layers, the first is the hypoallergenic sleep surface, which is very soft and an airy lightness. This surface is also certified to Oeko-Tex 100 standard. The cover is none removeable, so we would recommend covering the mattress with a mattress protector, to protect the mattress from spills and stains, a mattress protector will also improve the mattress longevity. Next is a Simbatex layer, made from open cell Simbatex foam, this prevents the mattress from overheating and give additional comfort. Final layer is the support and pressure layer, that has 7 ergonomic pressure zones to support specific areas of your body and also evenly distributes weight, this gives you great back support and comfort.

In terms of mattress firmness, the Simba Premium Mattress sits at medium firm, which is best for side sleepers and those who sleep on their back. The mattress has a comfortable top, this moulds to your body shape and the high definition foam gives your body the right level of support. This layer also targets common achy areas, such as your neck, shoulders and lower back.

How to look after your Simba Mattress

Since the cover of the Simba Hybrid® mattress isn’t removeable, we recommend using a mattress protector to protect your mattress. To clean any light marks, use a damp cloth with light cleaning products and wipe down, always test a small area of the stain first, to make sure the cleaning product doesn’t damage the mattress.
