Simba® 1500 Hybrid Mattress

If you can’t decide between purchasing a spring or memory foam mattress, why not have the best of both worlds with a hybrid? A hybrid mattress combines these two materials, using layers of foam and a layer of springs that gives you support and comfort. These types of mattresses have the advantage of great bounce and better airflow. If this sounds ideal to you, then a hybrid may be your next purchase. If you want a sustainable, supportive, and breathable mattress, Simba’s Hybrid® Mattress might be your perfect match.

Inside The Simba® 1500 Hybrid Mattress

Simba’s Hybrid® Mattress consists of 5 layers that work together to provide comfort and support to all sleeper types, as well as keeping you cool throughout the night. At 25cm deep, this mattress offers a medium firmness that contours to your body with very little sinkage. Through the combination of foam and microcoils, Simba Mattress provides support and comfort with breathability to ensure you receive a sound night’s sleep.

The Simba Hybrid® is encased in a 100% polyester cover. It is thin and stretchy, allowing air to flow effectively. It is advised that you do not remove the cover. We recommend a mattress cover or a waterproof mattress protector to add protection against stains.

Many foam mattresses that use synthetic materials run the risk of trapping heat. Simba Mattress overcomes this problem by designing and implementing its open cell foam. Branded as Simbatex, this layer of foam is infused with graphite for cooling and maximises airflow. With this innovative design, you can enjoy the benefits of the soft and plush foam without getting too hot and minimal sinking.

The Simba® 1500 Hybrid Mattress - Second Layer

The second layer of foam contains a thin layer of up to 2,500 25mm conical pocket Aerocoil™ Springs. These titanium alloy microcoils allow the mattress to contour to the sleeper. This addition below the top latex layer eliminates the possibility of pressure points as the coils compress when pressure is applied. The microcoils should not be confused with traditional coils. This addition to the Simba Mattress line creates a little extra bounce and support than you would get from an all-foam mattress. The microcoils add some extra response, but they do not bounce or push back like a traditional open coil mattress.

The Simba® 1500 Hybrid Mattress - Third Layer

The third layer of memory foam creates a softer transition between the foundation and the microcoils. With another layer of foam, you gain more support in the compression of the mattress. This means that you do not face the level of sinkage as you would with a traditional memory foam mattress.

The Simba® 1500 Hybrid Mattress - Final Layer

The zoned base of support form acts as the mattress foundation. This is the thickest layer of foam, and its structure adds more support to your body, especially for back and side sleepers.

The foams used in Simba mattresses are CertiPur certified. This means they are free of dyes and heavy metals that are harmful to the environment. In addition, Simba has developed its own unique purer foam called Simba-Pure. Simba mattresses are free from pollutants and chemicals that are harmful to the planet.

Simba® 1500 Hybrid Mattress Firmness

The Hybrid® Mattress has a medium firmness. When sleeping, the foam offers a contour of the body with a slight level of sinking.

Edge Support

This mattress has good edge support due to a layer of high-definition foam. This mattress is ideal for those who like to sleep on the edge.

Motion Transfer

If you or your partner are active sleepers, rest assured the Simba Hybrid® Mattress has great motion transfer. The mattress produces little noise and isolates motion well. We found that the mattress distributes weight with ease.

Sleeping Positions

Weight, sleeping position, and overall opinions factor into what makes a mattress perfect for you. In Simba’s case, the layers of foam work well to provide support, comfort, and alleviate pressure, making their mattresses ideal for all types of sleepers.

For back and side sleepers, you need to find a mattress that will provide proper support and comfort. Simba designed its foundation support with back and side sleepers in mind. Therefore, you may find the level of contour and sinkage ratio to be ideal.

If you prefer to sleep on your stomach, do not fret because the Simba 1500 Hybrid® will also be comfortable for you. Stomach sleepers must choose a mattress with support and stability. The combination of different foam layers, especially its top latex layer, ensures optimal body adaptation that will provide good pressure relief and cushioning in specific areas.

For those who are of a lighter build, you may find the Simba’s medium firmness to be too firm.

Our best advice is to test the Simba Hybrid® to determine whether this is the best choice for you. At the end of the day, the quality of your sleep is the most important!

Warranty Trial

Simba offers a 200 night sleep trial. If you choose to return the mattress, Simba offers a hassle-free collection service. It is not needed for you to return the product into its packaging, Simba does ask that you remove any bedding!

If you decide to keep the mattress, Simba offers a 10 year guarantee. Any faults that can be said to have started during manufacturing such as fault zips or cracks within the foam are covered, as well as general wear and tear. It is required for the mattress to be placed on an appropriate base and bedding and regular rotations of 180°, once a month during the initial 200 nights then at least every six months consistently. Soiled mattresses and/or mattresses damaged by misuse, disaster, or pets are not covered by the 10 year warranty.

How to Unbox The Simba® 1500 Mattress

Simba mattresses will come to you in a box, vacuum-packed, and rolled up. We found it to be heavy but easier to manage than a traditional mattress. Using the cutter tool provided, you can release the mattress from its plastic encasing and place it on your frame to decompress. It should take 5-6 hours to properly return to its normal size.

PROS

  • The layers work well for support, as well as great edge support.
  • Use of foam allows the mattress to mould to your shape and offers good pain relief on certain pressure spots.
  • Great motion isolation.

CONS

  • If you are prone to overheat during sleep, you may find this mattress uncomfortable.
  • Due to the use of synthetic foam, you will not get the breathability you would receive from pocket sprung mattresses.
  • No firmness variability

Simba 1500 Mattress Review – Wrap Up
